Many factors to consider when choosing a rear view camera
Purchase price is important, but it is not the whole story. See some of the many reasons QuickVu™ should be your choice of backup camera system. Click on each point to read more about it.
Convenience -- Install it yourself in 5 minutes
Unlike nearly all other backup cameras, QuickVu™ requires no drilling of holes nor splicing of wires and therefore no need to pay someone to install it. Instead, you can install it yourself by simply removing the license plate screws, adding the camera on top of the license plate, and then re-installing the screws. The monitor simply sticks on the dash and plugs into the car's power port (cigarette lighter receptacle). Optionally, you may use a suction cup to mount the monitor on the windshield or a handy magnet to attach it to an air vent.
Price
When you purchase an accessory for your vehicle, you need to consider all the costs. Of course, there is the price of the product. Then there is also the cost of installation. With shop fees exceeding $100 an hour in most places, installing that $100 camera and monitor may add $100s to the installed cost on many vehicles.
Interference Free Video
Using frequency hopping technology, QuickVu™ avoids channels that are occupied, and fits within the interference avoidance technologies used by Bluetooth, Wifi and other potential interference sources. As a result, you get a steady, clean picture. By comparison, analog signals used by typical systems may experience interference from other devices nearby.
Powerful, long distance performance
Between the high efficiency internal antennas on both the camera and monitor lies a Power Amplifier/Low Noise Amplifier (PA/LNA). This boosts the radio signal to a high level so that it will deliver a quality radio signal across long distances and/or through multiple walls or obstructions. The result is high video quality whether the QuickVu™ system is mounted on a small vehicle or at the back of a long trailer. We tested the open air, direct line of sight transmission up to about 1/4 mile with great results. (We could have gone further, but we didn't see the point!)
Always ready, even if you're not backing up
QuickVu™ turns on with the starting of your car (when power comes on to the car's power port). Additionally, you can press a button on the monitor to turn it on at any other time. Because QuickVu™ does not rely on solar charged batteries, you don't have to worry about parking in a garage or in the shade, or seeing a few overcast days. QuickVu™'s low power camera circuit, when used with long lasting Energizer Ultimate Lithium™ AA batteries, lasts up to a year under typical use. So changing the batteries is not a big issue.
QuickVu™ is the first (and still the simplest) truly wireless rear view camera system
The QuickVu™ Wireless Backup Camera system was the first truly wireless backup camera system on the market. We have improved it significantly since the initial product introduction with features such as digital transmission and infrared LED assisted night vision. It is easier to install than ever.
Keep your vehicle warranty intact
Don't risk voiding your vehicle warranty or frying the electrical system by drilling holes, running wires, and splicing electrical connections. with QuickVu™ there is no need to modify your vehicle.
Hitch your trailer quickly and easily
Of course QuickVu™ is a superb general purpose backup camera, but when mounted above the mounting ball, QuickVu™ is also a great hitch camera. And you don't have to get out of the truck to mount it or turn it on! It's there when you need it.
Now available with 2 cameras
Do you wish you had a camera on the back of your truck and on the back of your trailer? Or would you like to see the parking berms in front of your car as well as see behind you? Now QuickVu™ supports 2 cameras to meet these important needs.
What are you risking without a backup camera?
Studies have shown that rear view camera systems help lower the risk of backover accidents. Each year, thousands of backing accidents lead to property damage, injury, and loss of life. Tragically, hundreds of toddlers are injured or killed in backing accidents each year. What is it worth to you to protect against backing into another vehicle, a mailbox, a shopping cart, a child, or an elderly person?
